Breakfast Smoothies
Every day this week, I've made a smoothie for breakfast. Today's smoothie has 1 cup frozen unsweetened strawberries, 1/2 cup frozen unsweetened cherries, 1 naval orange, 1/2 apple, 1/2 banana, and 1 tbsp. ground flax seed.
Flax seed has omega-3s, lignans and fiber which protect against cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, inflammation and hot flashes. When these run out, I'm going to buy chia seeds which are supposed to be even better for you (but more expensive).
Oh good timing on this post! I need to go to the grocery store today and getting stuff to make smoothies will now go on the list! Yours look goooood!
