Great quote from the documentary in my last post, about 45 minutes in: What helps to have a healthy diet/lifestyle is to have a massive paradigm shift from "I want that, but I can't have it" to "I can have that, but I don't want it".
Another guy talked about keeping the focus on adding in the good stuff rather than depriving yourself of the bad stuff, because eventually the good stuff will crowd out the bad stuff.
(The quinoa-stuffed pepper dish was something I made last summer...I will try to find the recipe and post it.)
The good news...I used the "I can have that, but I don't want it" thought process. The bad news...I was in the produce aisle!! :(
ReplyDeleteI agree though, good quote. I often say I wish I could be one of those people where Mcdonalds (and all fast food) just disgust me!
The produce aisle! hahahahahaha
ReplyDeleteThat is a good quote. The stuffed pepper looks good. I made some this week. Walmart had giant green peppers for 68 cents each. I stuffed them with a mixture of rice, canned diced tomatoes, onion, red beans, chili powder....and then added sharp cheddar to the top at the end.
ReplyDeleteMmmmmm...that sounds good MOM!
ReplyDeleteYes, the stuffed peppers MOM made were very good!! (And the cilantro rice and salsa!)
ReplyDeleteLisa, if you find that recipe, let us know. I love peppers!
